A team of two sisters and Philly natives who are crazy about food. Rhonda is a classically trained chef turned baker and graduate of The Culinary Institute of America She has a bachelors degree in culinary and hospitality management. She has worked in the Philly restaurant industry for 5 years in various roles. Pastry has always had some sort of gravitational pull on her. She made the shift in her career because of her fasicnation with pastry. Mercedes is heavily involved in the creative process; her main focus is photography.  Mercedes and Rhonda are extremely excited to embark on this new endeavor with each other and all of you. Community is one of their core values. To support other artists by bringing awareness to their business and utilizing their products within Second Daughter Baking.

                                                   “Cakes, pastries and small goods” 
       Their style could be described as whimsical, a bit abstract and clean. Art is a major influence on their work. They try to rethink how to incorporate texture, patterns and color in a distinctive way. While they enjoy creating abstract designs, they don't shy away from simple clean designs. In fact, they're a favorite.  All of the pastries are made from scratch to order to ensure freshness and quality. They are based in Philadelphia which allows access to some of the best seasonal and local ingredients like free range organic eggs, fruits, herbs, and veggies. We pride ourselves on using local fruit  and vegetables from various local farms such as Indian Orchards and Green Meadows. Using local free range organic eggs and dairy is also part of our mission. 
                         

                          We offer shipping on our non-perishable items like brownies and cookies.  
                                 We also offer pick-up and local delivery within 16 miles of  BOK
